We are so glad that you are joining us today. Christmas is a special time to attend church, and we are so thankful that you have chosen to worship with us.

Christmas is also one of the most emotional times of the year. For some people, there is happiness, planning, parties, and excitement. For other there is pain, sorrow, and grief. Desperate people feel even more desperate around the holidays.

That is why today’s message is so important. The message given to the shepherds when Jesus was born still holds a message of hope and good news for us today.

Today we will unpack Luke 2:10-14 where the angel says to the shepherds, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and say, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased.”

Today we will find out why this Good News of Christmas is still important for us today!

Joyfully yours,

Pastor Stan
